Body Mass Index Chart

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a height-weight formula that gauges total body fat and assesses weight-related health risks. A BMI of 30 and higher is considered obese. The higher the BMI, the greater the risk of developing additional health problems.

To find your Body Mass Index using the BMI chart, below:

1. Find your height in inches, in left-hand column.
2. Look across the row for your weight in pounds.
3. Then look up your BMI in the top column.

BMI Examples

You are 60 inches in height.
Your weight is 118 pounds.
Your Body Mass Index is 23. (Normal weight)

You are 64 inches in height.
Your weight is 173 pounds.
Your Body Mass Index is 30. (Obese)

You are 73 inches in height.
Your weight is 246 pounds.
Your Body Mass Index is 32-3. (Obese)

BMI Metric Conversion

Divide your height in cm by 2.54 to convert it into inches.
Multiply your weight in kilos by 2.2

BMI Example

You are 158 cm in height. Calculation: 158 divided by 2.54 = 62 inches.
Your weight is 77 kilos. Calculation: 77 X 2.2 = 169 pounds.
Your Body Mass Index is 31 (Obese)
