Do Appetite Suppressants Carry Health
Risks?
Yes. Appetite suppressants may carry health
risks. This is because some appetite suppressant supplements contain amphetamine
derivatives which can make them highly addictive. In addition the effect
of such weight loss supplements tends to wear off if they are taken for
long periods, so the patient is inclined to take large and larger doses
with ever increasing addiction.
Because of this, taking appetite suppressants
may be a high risk method of weight loss. Furthermore, there is no clear
evidence that weight loss achieved using appetite suppressant pills lasts
over the longer term.
