Does Alcohol Lead to Weight Gain
Some dieters still think that alcohol-calories
have less effect on weight-gain than food calories. In fact, alcoholic
drinks contain calories not only in the form of sugar (which varies depending
on the type of drink) but also in the pure alcohol contained in the drink
as well - and this pure alcohol is high in calories - 7 calories per gram.
Bottom line: alcohol is a significant factor
in determining whether or not we are overweight. So if you want to lose
weight and reduce fat, limit your alcohol-calorie intake.
