High Fiber Foods Are Perfect for Weight Loss Diets

Foods high in fiber are great for weight loss. Weight-for-weight, these foods don't contain many calories. Also, because we can't 'digest' fiber, it fills up our stomach and reduces hunger. Bottom line: when you eat fiber-rich foods, you tend to get full before you can take in too many calories.

Also high-fiber foods are typically low on the glycemic index (GI), which means they help stabilize our blood sugar levels, and thus help to reduce food cravings.
