How to Eat More Fiber
Here are a few tips on how to eat more
fiber and thus improve your digestion and lose weight.
- Start your day with muesli or a whole-wheat
breakfast cereal with no added sugar.
- Eat whole-wheat bread. Remember, whole-wheat
bread is richer in fiber than regular bread.
- Make sure your main meal is accompanied
by a fiber-rich helping of one of the following:
- Potatoes, scrubbed not peeled, either baked or boiled
- Brown rice,
- Wholewheat pasta
- Bulgar wheat
- Eat a portion of green peas or beans
once a day.
- Eat at least one other portion of fresh
vegetables a day. All vegetables contain some fiber, but the really
fiber-rich ones are green leafy vegetables like spinach.
- Eat two or three pieces of fresh fruit
every day. Remember not to eat too much dried fruit unless it's been
soaked and cooked.
