How to Reduce Sugar Intake in Diet

  • Don't add sugar to your tea or coffee. Sweeteners may be zero-calorie, but since many are 200 times sweeter than sugar, they only feed your cravings for sweet things.
  • Avoid regular soft drinks/sodas. Choose diet-sodas, or water.
  • Reduce your intake of sweet processed snacks like cookies, candy and cakes - eat fresh fruit instead.
  • When buying canned fruit, choose varieties canned in juice, not syrup.
  • Don't add sugar to your breakfast cereal.
  • Read food-labels when shopping. Choose 'reduced-sugar' and 'no added sugar' products every time.
