means going hungry. This is based on a mistaken notion of why we get overweight.
It's not that they're bingeing nightly on cream cakes - it's simply that,
without realizing it, they are taking in large quantities of fat and sugar
in their everyday food. It's not the occasional sinful treats that make
us fat, but what we take in, day after day, year after year as ordinary
sustenance. Often it's the food we hardly think about that makes us overweight,
