Typical Weight Loss to Expect When Following
a Weight Loss Program
Depending on your starting weight and how
overweight you are, here's what a typical weight loss program produces
in terms of weight reduction:
The First 2-3 Weeks
Rapid weight loss of between 7-12 pounds
The Next 2 Weeks
Weight loss of 2-4 pounds a week
The Next Month
Weight loss of 1-2 pounds a week
From then on, the weight loss should be a steady 1-2 pounds a week until
you reach your ideal weight. Remember that even on a total starvation
diet - which is of course dangerous - the weight loss, after the initial
rapid phase, would only be 4 pounds a week. The good news is, even if
you continued to lose weight at 'only' 1 pound a week, in 3 months you
would have lost a further 14 pounds.
