Personal coaching to help you eat healthily and lose weight is becoming more popular in the USA and is beginning to catch on in the UK. Some companies even offer a "Weight Loss Police" service to make certain you're not cheating on your weight loss diet plan!

Many personal fitness trainers also offer diet advice, but ask them for their qualifications and references, if possible. For reliable diet advice, you would probably be better off visiting a qualified dietitian from the American Dietetic Association, or an equivalent organization, locally.

Obviously, personal advice can be fairly expensive. A cheaper option with similar benefits, but less personal attention, is a weight loss meeting (e.g. Weight Watchers). A cheaper option, if you have a serious problem, might be to visit your doctor and get referred to a dietitian.
