Weigh Yourself and Check Your Weight Regularly

A few dieters people find it genuinely helpful to check their weight every day. But many find daily weighing is de-motivating. Others prefer a weekly weigh-in, at the same time each week, since weight can fluctuate a pound or two daily depending on fluid retention. [Probably the best weigh-in method for women is once a month in the week after a period.]

But regardless of how frequently you weigh, discipline yourself to weigh regularly on reliable scales. Keep track of your progress, and focus on the number you want to see on the scales. Remember, too, that the scales aren't the only measure of success. If you are exercising and turning fat to muscle, you may not be losing weight but you're likely to be losing inches.
