In winter, cooking stews is another way
of controlling your weight while maintaining a healthy diet. Add lean
meat, chopped potatoes and vegetables and boil (or cook in oven) for 30
minutes or so. If you're extra hungry, add beans or extra vegetables.
Leftovers keep well in the refrigerator.
For summer weight control, think no further
than main-meals salads - ready-cut and washed leaves, herbs, etc. make
the job easy - just add your protein (cooked chicken, for example, thinly
sliced) and some carbohydrate (bread, chopped cooked new potatoes, cooked
pasta or rice) and there you are. Keep your portions reasonably small
and fill up on vegetables, side salads and fruit. Remember, to lose weight
you don't need to go hungry. Healthy dieting means healthy food, not less
food!
