What are Blood Test Diets

These are diets based on the assumption that weight gain can be caused by a person's intolerance towards certain foods. By avoiding these foods, weight loss becomes easier. A blood sample is taken, and based on the results a dieter is given two separate food-lists: a list of banned foods and a list of 'good' foods. One of the most popular types of 'blood test diets' is the Nutron Diet.

What You Eat on Blood Test Diets

The list of banned items frequently contains a wide variety of common foods, including ordinary bread and most dairy products. You are allowed to continue your normal eating habits, only excluding your personal banned foods.

How Blood Test Diets Help You Lose Weight

There does not appear to be any medical evidence linking food intolerance to weight gain. However, there is evidence that these 'blood-test' diets may be inaccurate and may pose a possible health risk due to lack of essential nutrition.
