With high protein, low carb weight loss diets frightening everyone off carbohydrates, and an ever-increasing reliance on weight loss supplements to control weight, it's great to see a balanced approach to diet and food. So we're delighted to recommend Dr Andrew Weil's diet book - Eating Well for Optimum Health.

First published 2000, it's not a weight loss book per se and it doesn't advocate a specific diet plan. But it does contain lots of sensible advice about eating well.

If you want to eat healthily, learn about diet nutrition and maintain a healthy weight, it's well worth a read.

Weight Loss Diets
Almost all diet programs help us lose weight and teach us something about healthy weight loss. There's no such thing as an ideal weight loss diet. But ideally, follow a balanced diet, set realistic weight loss goals and set aside enough time for aerobic exercise.
