Written in 1982 originally by Audrey Eyton, the F-Plan (and the Complete F-Plan Diet which was published a few years later) is based on the idea that because fiber fills us up quicker, a high fiber diet is a good solution for people who want to lose weight. The diet is low in fat and high in complex carbs.

What You Eat on The F-Plan Weight Loss Diet

Whole grains, baked potatoes, baked chicken, mixed salad, skimmed milk, pulses, fruit, unlimited vegetables and the odd glass of alcohol. Average daily calorie intake of about 1300 calories.

How The F-Plan Helps You Lose Weight

The diet induces weight loss like all other diets - by controlling the amount of calories taken in. It is generally quite a healthy eating plan, although there can be side effects like bloating or flatulence. Curiously, most of the foods go against the current trend because they are high on the Glycemic Index - including baked potatoes, parsnips, whole wheat bread and dates.
