Fad Diets - Are Low-Calorie Diets

Any low-calorie diet plan - one that induces a "calorie deficit" - will help you lose weight. A calorie deficit simply means eating less food or calories than your body needs to maintain your weight. It's not that fad diets containing grapefruit, cabbage soup or high protein foods contain magical chemicals that melt the fat off your body. If you're losing weight following a fad diet, it's just because you're eating fewer calories.

Fad diets may help you lose weight in the short term, but studies prove the majority of people regain part or all of their weight again.

Most fad diets follow a very strict eating plan and are not very practical ways to eat for any length of time.

Unless we learn new eating habits, we are likely to revert to our old unhealthy habits and regain whatever weight we lost.
