Weight Loss Pills - Dangers of Overdose
Some weight loss pills boost your metabolism
in order to reduce appetite or burn extra calories. These amphetamine-type
weight loss pills were popular 30-40 years ago, until doctors realized
that they could be addictive and harmful. Few people managed to diet successfully
and keep weight off with them, and many became physically hooked. Today's
weight loss pills may cause similar dangers. Doses which are sufficient
to cause weight loss (albeit temporary weight loss) can also cause tremors,
severe headaches, heart palpitations and high blood pressure. This is
exacerbated by the fact that many non-prescription weight loss pills or
diet supplements are not labelled with amounts of active weight loss ingredients,
so knowing how much of a drug or weight loss agent you're getting can
be impossible.
