Ideal Weight Loss Diet for Healthy Heart

An ideal weight loss diet for maintaining a healthy heart should have sufficient calories to help you to maintain a normal weight and might include the following foods.

Oily Fish - For their special omega-3s (DHA and EPA)

These omega 3s are good at preventing blood clots, lowering the levels of blood fats and helping to reduce blood pressure. There is some research to show that the kind of diet people are normally told to follow to help prevent heart disease (or improve health and/or weight if you already have heart disease) - very low in fat and high in carbohydrate - although reducing the 'bad' LDL cholesterol in the blood, actually tends to increase the levels of harmful triglycerides in the blood, but if you regularly eat oily fish (or take supplements) and take regular exercise, the trigylceride levels tend not to increase.

At the same time, your weight loss diet should be low in saturated and trans fats, which we obtain from animal foods and processed foods (e.g. cookies, margarines).
