Metabolife 356 Weight Loss Supplement StudiesMetabolife Study by Vanderbilt University:In one experiment researchers and Vanderbilt University clocked the metabolic rates of 17 patients, once while they were taking the Metabolife supplement and once while they were taking a placebo, in a 24-hour period. The results indicated that the subject's metabolic rates increased slightly with Metabolife 356. While this study at first glance appears to converge with Metabolife International's claim that the weight loss supplement does in fact raise metabolism, the sample size of this experiment is very small and will therefore produce results that may not be representative of the entire population. This experiment also does not discuss the risks or side effects of Metabolife 356 so it seems further studies are needed. Metabolife Study by Columbia University:Researchers at Columbia University performed a study in which volunteers who took Metabolife 356 for eight weeks lost more weight then those taking a placebo. However, the patients on Metabolife 356 were more likely to experience jitteriness, insomnia, and heart palpitations, as well as increased blood pressure. Since Metabolife 356 has been shown to raise blood pressure it is important to be cautious if using Metabolife 356â to treat obesity. Typically obesity is treated with medication to lower blood pressure not raise it. This study raises issues concerning the safety of Metabolife 356. See also: What
