The F-Plan Diet ProgramThis diet book by Audrey Eyton, originally published in 1982, was the first high-fiber diet, and remains the most famous of them all. The Complete F-Plan Diet was published a few years later. The theory behind this diet is that a high intake of dietary fiber (aka 'non-starch polysaccharides') quickly fills you up while you are eating. And because you have to do a lot of chewing, you each satiety point before you have eaten too many calories. It offers bulk without calories (because fiber largely passes through the system undigested) and keeps hunger pangs at bay in between meals since high-fiber food takes longer to digest than low-fiber, refined foods.
