Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery Problems

Bariatric weight loss surgery causes nutritional deficiencies in nearly all patients, according to most doctors, because it surgically creates malabsorption.

A recent follow-up study showed that even 10 years later weight loss surgery patients were experiencing severe nutritional deficiencies and resulting complications.

What many bariatric patients don't realize is that they'll never be able to eat normally again.

Most weight loss surgery survivors can only eat 500 to 1,100 calories a day for the rest of their lives, much of the nutrients in their foods aren't absorbed, and they must forever eliminate certain foods, such as meats, starches and dairy, from their diets because they can't be digested.

Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery - Reminder
Bariatric weight loss surgery is not an easy option to lose weight. It's a serious surgical procedure whose long-term weight loss success depends on a patient's commitment to diet and behavior modification for life, along with exercise for weight control.
