Fat Cells - Weight & Obesity
When we lose weight, the amount of fat
stored in the body's cells is reduced, but the cells do not disappear.
They collapse a little but stay around waiting for more fat to fill them
again. Losing weight won't rid us of fat cells, but weight gain causes
our body to make more. Cells can only hold so much fat, so if there is
excess fat, new cells are formed to cope. A person of normal weight has
around 30 billion fat cells, an overweight person around 100 billion fat
cells and a severely obese person around 270 billion fat cells.
Weight Loss Advice
Obesity and weight reduction is becoming
a huge health issue. Before buying any weight loss pills or enrolling
for gastrointestinal weight loss surgery, remember that long-term weight
control is based on a healthy balanced diet and regular exercise, no matter
which weight loss option you choose.
