Fat, Diet & Weight Loss
Weight loss studies show that most people
in the US have too much fat in their diet. Weight for weight, fat contains
twice as many calories as protein or carbohydrates. A large proportion
of the fat in our diet comes from meat. So if we want to lose weight,
it is a good idea to cut the amount of meat in our diet. Replace fatty
meat with lean cuts of meat (or low fat versions). Or cut off all visible
fat from meat before cooking. White chicken is very lean provided you
remove the skin - this cuts the calories and fat in half. Turkey and game
are also low in fat, but duck and goose are high in fat so avoid these.

Obesity and weight reduction is becoming
a huge health issue. Before buying any weight loss pills or enrolling
for gastrointestinal weight loss surgery, remember that long-term weight
control is based on a healthy balanced diet and regular exercise, no matter
which weight loss option you choose.
