Food Portion Sizes & Weight ControlIf you gain pounds but don't know why - check the portion size of the food you are eating. It may be that you are eating more calories than you realize. Fortunately it's not obligatory to follow a portion or calorie controlled diet to judge the amount we eat. Instead become familiar with some of the basic food measurements in your diet. For example 3oz uncooked rice is about the size of your fist (105 calories). Or 1oz candy is 4 squares of a standard candy bar (150 calories). Do some calorie calculations of your own and become familiar with regular food measurements and how they 'look.' Balanced Diet
