Hypothalamus & Weight Control
Chewing food for longer is one way to lose
weight. Why? An area of the brain called the hypothalamus controls our
appetites - it tells us if we are hungry or not. Chewing food gives our
brain time to register when we are full, so we are less likely to overeat
and gain weight. Other weight loss studies show that people lose more
weight if they sit at a table to eat rather than in front of a TV. So
if you do start a weight loss diet, it is a good idea to look at some
of your eating habits.
Weight Loss Advice
Obesity and weight reduction is becoming
a huge health issue. Before buying any weight loss pills or enrolling
for gastrointestinal weight loss surgery, remember that long-term weight
control is based on a healthy balanced diet and regular exercise, no matter
which weight loss option you choose.
