Interval Training & Weight Loss

Interval training is a great way to improve fitness levels and lose weight. It involves exercising harder for short periods of time, then reducing the pace to recover.

For example you might run at a normal pace for 5 minutes and sprint for 1 minute. Or raise the incline on a treadmill or the resistance on a rowing machine to increase the aerobic pace.

According to some weight loss experts, we burn more calories by interval training than regular exercise programs. The aerobic pace seems to increase our metabolic rate, which increases the rate at which we burn calories.
