Weight Loss Study Summary
Wisconsin residents who used diet shakes and weight loss snack products
for 10 years weighed an average of nearly 33 pounds less than people who
didn't, according to a recent weight loss study by Harvard Medical School
and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Weight Loss Study - Snack Replacements
After 10 years, 130 people who used the meal and snack replacements lost
an average of 6 pounds of body weight, while 154 people who didn't use
the products gained an average 27 pounds of body weight. Men who used
the weight loss products lost an average of 7 pounds of weight and women
had an average loss of 5.3 pounds of weight. Men who didn't use the weight
loss products gained an average of 25 pounds, and women gained an average
of 28 pounds of weight.
Weight Loss Study - Slim-Fast
Study organizers said the weight loss study was among the longest to track
how people controlled their weight over an extended period of time. The
meal replacements used in the study were Slim-Fast shakes and bars.
